As an Industrial Psychologist, she managed an Aptitude Testing Unit for a gold mine and provided Learning and Development services to various departments. She worked as a Business Process Re-Engineering Consultant at Knox D’Arcy, focusing on business improvement and optimisation. As a Consulting Industrial Psychologist, she worked for Amalgamated Beverage Industries, responsible for developing recruitment, selection and development approaches. She was responsible for recruitment and talent management throughout the business. At SABMiller, her portfolio was extended to include talent management for Sales, Distribution and Marketing, across the Beer and Soft drinks businesses. She has extensive experience working with and at the level of, Managing Directors and Executive Directors, and throughout the company. Elna is highly proficient at understanding the importance of aligning the HR strategy and value chain to business strategies. She implemented Talent Management throughout a business, contributing to the culture and organisational job fit changes to realise organisational growth strategies. Working and consulting in various industries gives her a proclivity to understand the different business context and develop tailored solutions that support strategic business objectives.
Student for life
She is an eternal student at heart. As a result, she holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology and has a wealth of experience in integrated talent management across the Human Resources value chain. She is also a qualified Coach and Career Path Appreciation Practitioner. She is also furthering her skills in organisational development and has recently completed the Bioss Anchor-Chain™ Change management training. In 2017 Elna completed a BA degree in Biblical Counselling through Filadelfia, MINTS. Also, she completed a programme in pastoral narrative counselling practices. She completed a program in Spiritual Direction. In 2023 she obtained a BA. Hons. in Theology and became a Golden Key member. Her specific interests are positive psychology, narrative counselling, coaching in diverse contexts, enneagram, neuroscience, appreciative inquiry, qualitative techniques, holistic wellness and well-being spirituality in the workplace.
Community involvement
Community involvement is vital to her. She is a Service Worker with Kerksondermure, Centurion, where she offers individual and couples counselling. Further, she provides counselling and coaching to care seekers, depending on the need. Also, she provides group coaching to ladies based on specific themes. She developed two programmes focused on faith development and growth and guide ladies through their spiritual desert periods. In 2019, for a period of 18 months, she joined Simcha working as a counsellor, supporting individuals and members of a support group whose husbands are in porn and sex addiction clutches.
